Where Would I Fit In?

The School of Athens is a significant painting in the Papal Palace. It shows the changes throughout society during the days of the Renaissance. Many people in the Renaissance worked as printers, but very few of them actually knew how to read and write correctly. This painting shows how people have evolved and how even the peasants can read and write. Also, this shows the different parts of society, and how the people interacted with each other. For example, everyone in this piece of artwork is separated into their own little groups. In these groups, they have conversations about their topics, and lives, there may be a philosophical group or a mathematical group. And in the middle of it all there is the teacher, he is the master of learning in this painting, the leader. The School of Athens is a perfect map of the society during the Renaissance.

If I was in this painting, I would most likely be Pythagoras. This is because I am good at math, like he was and he was a mathematician. He invented the Pythagorean theorem, which states that the two legs on a triangle squared are the length of the hypotenuse( a2+b2=c2). So if I had to pick someone to be in this particular painting it would be Pythagoras because we are both good at math and we are both Greek. I also believe that Pythagoras lived a life filled with knowledge of the math subject since he was known as “father of the numbers.” I think that it would be fantastic to know all you need to know about mathematics and philosophy, since he was also a philosopher. This is another way I am a lot like him since I can see things in different ways and think of them differently. This is why if I was in this painting I would be Pythagoras.
